Justo Dorantes is the Pulpit Minister for our Hispanic sister congregation, Iglesia de Cristo.
Justo is originally from the Yucatan, Peninsula in Mexico. Justo graduated from the school of tourism in the Yucatan and worked for the government in the tourism department in the Yucatan. In the United States Justo attended the Sunset School of Preaching in Lubbock Texas and he graduated in the ministerial program. He also graduated from the school of missions from the Sunset International Bible Institute in Lubbock, Texas.
In the State of Alabama Justo attended Heritage Christian University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts. Upon graduation from Heritage Christian University, Justo received the “Alexander Bible award” this award is presented to the male graduating senior who demonstrates the most Christ-like spirit. Justo also received the “W.S Thompson Award”, this award is presented annually to an outstanding junior planning to become a minister. Justo received in 2018 the alumnus of the year award from Heritage Christian University. Justo graduated with a master’s degree in ministry from the Theological University of America.
Justo’s work at Beltline is to reach the Hispanic population in the area of North Alabama. His goal is to contact, baptize, and train Christians. Since the Hispanic ministry started at Beltline, there have been more than five hundred baptisms. God has opened many doors since the work started in Decatur and dozens of churches have been planted in the United States and outside the borders of the United States. Justo is married to Svetlana Dorantes and they have three daughters.
